This card holds a special place in my heart. Long ago, on a Friday night, I was home alone after a date was canceled at the last minute. Feeling discouraged, I pulled a few cards and received: Ship, Woman, Crossroads, Heart, Dog.

At the time, I assumed Dog at the end meant friends would comfort me. Crossroads in the center stood out, but I was too emotionally drained to analyze it deeply.

Later that night, a friend showed up needing a ride. Her car was too small to fit everyone, so I drove her and two other women to a club in downtown Washington, DC. While driving, it hit me that Ship referred to my car. I was literally on the road.

On the way home through Georgetown, my car was full of women. At a red light, an intersection in the most literal sense, one of them spotted a German friend sitting in the next car, surrounded by men.

We pulled over abruptly. I wanted to leave, but before I did, I met my soulmate, the man who would become my husband. The cards had been incredibly literal. Driving on the road, I, the Woman, found love and joy with a loyal partner, the Dog.

It took me two days to finish writing this card. During those two days, I had to reschedule client appointments twice, weighing options and choosing the best solutions. Another perfect reflection of Crossroads at work.
